HDR - First Light Over Kakariki

Post by Albee (Admin) on Wed Jul 23, 2014 1:31 pm

Here is an image that I produced recently. It's an High Dynamic Range merge of two different exposures shown below the final image. The HDR greatly enhances the detail and colours in the scene. The two original images were taken on a small Canon SX150IS and handheld. To produce an HDR image you need some software that will merge the multiple shots, but just about any scene will look awesome with a bit of practice.

Have you tried using some of the removal tools on photoshop or even lightroom? If you have them then you can.  Question

Woohoo! The first discussion is away, thanks H & C.

The power lines are an interesting point. I did consider removing them, but decided that they weren't too much of a distraction. The image is also already VERY processed, and didn't want to modify it any more.

But what do other people think? Would it look better without them?

To be honest I'd like to see one with and without and try do a comparison between the two, but they can be so useful sometimes , they can give you that extra bit in the foreground/background.  Smile
